About the Role...
We're looking for a commercially-minded, creatively ambitious Senior Social Media Manager to lead and evolve our national and local social media strategy.This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of creativity, performance and brand. You'll shape the content strategy, lead a talented team, and drive measurable business results through organic and paid social, influencer partnerships and structured testing.You'll need to be equally comfortable setting strategic direction, analysing performance data, influencing senior stakeholders and getting hands-on with content creation when needed.
This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
What You'll Be Doing...
Lead the Strategy
- Own and evolve the social media strategy across national and local channels.
- Drive growth in reach, engagement and brand impact while clearly linking activity to commercial outcomes.
- Build structured test-and-learn programmes to continuously improve creative effectiveness across organic and paid social.
Elevate Content & Creativity
- Define and lead the content strategy, developing bold, platform-native ideas and repeatable formats.
- Create a culture of creative bravery and innovation within the team.
- Personally contribute to ideation and content development where needed - this is not a purely oversight role.
- Embed efficient production processes, templates and sign-off frameworks to scale content output.
Drive Influencer & Paid Performance
- Review and evolve our influencer strategy with a strong focus on ROI and measurable business impact.
- Partner closely with media and campaign teams to improve paid social asset performance through insight-led creative optimisation.
Own Reporting & Commercial Impact
- Lead social reporting and insight, elevating how we measure and communicate effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of how social activity contributes to wider marketing and business metrics (e.g. brand consideration, traffic, leads, memberships).
- Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Lead & Develop the Team
- Manage and develop two direct reports, creating a high-performing, empowered social team.
- Ensure brand consistency and quality control across national and local social publishing.
As part of the interview process, you'll be asked to complete a short practical task to demonstrate both your strategic thinking and creative content capability.
About you...
- You have at least 5 years' experience in social media marketing, primarily within a corporate environment (brand-side or agency).
*This role is not suited to someone whose main experience has been as an influencer without commercial accountability. - You have a proven track record of delivering growth across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
- You have strong experience in social media measurement and reporting, and can confidently connect performance to wider business metrics.
- You've managed paid influencer campaigns with clear commercial objectives and ROI focus.
- You're experienced in social content production, including briefing and shoot management.
- You're commercially minded, data-literate and comfortable making decisions based on insight.
- You're a strong stakeholder manager who can influence across marketing, PR and leadership teams.
- You balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to prioritise high-impact work.
