About the Role
This position is part of the Transport Strategy and Policy team, whereyou willbe responsible foroverseeing thedevelopment of Integrated transportprogramme at Oxfordshire County Council.You will serve as the primary point of contact for this work stream, reporting directly to senior management and collaborating closely with colleagues across the Council.
This position is highly significant within the County Council and entails deliveringinitiallyadetailed delivery plan for this workstreamandalongside,leading on the delivery of the Bus Plan, expected to be completed by the Autumn.The ideal applicant shouldpossessprior experience in transport planning policy, with at least five years of relevant experience.Candidates must be able todemonstrate, both in their application and interview, the ability to present and report complex data effectively to a non-specialist audience.Familiarity with data presentation techniquesandtransport modelling experience, for example, TRACC (or other software which could show how a transport network could evolve) would be desirable but not essential.
In this position, youwill also besupportingtheLocal Transport Connectivity ProgrammeLead, including tasks such as governancemanagementand applying critical thinking skills, asthe team delivers its annual LTCP monitoring report for members.
This position is a senior role within the team, requiring you to act as deputy for the Transport Strategy and PolicyLead. You willbe responsible forproactively contributing to and leading team meetings,facilitatingdiscussionsregardingworkloads and priorities, and providing direct supervision and guidance to junior team members.
We currentlyoperateunder a hybrid model, withan anticipatedin-office presence of two days per week; however, this arrangementremainsflexible to accommodate business requirements. Each month, we hold an in-person team meeting on Tuesdays, which all team members are expected to attend. Additionally, site visits are conductedapproximately onceper month.
