Job Description – Support Worker

Reports to: Manager

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, compassionate, and reliable Support Worker to join our team. The Support Worker will provide high-quality care and support to clients with health and social care needs on a one-to-one basis. You will promote independence while maintaining respect for each individual’s dignity, confidentiality, choices, and rights.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support in accordance with individual care plans.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming where required.
- Support clients with mobility, including the safe use of equipment and aids.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding where necessary, and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Administer or assist with medication in line with training and company policy.
- Support clients with daily living tasks including light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Encourage and support clients to maintain independence and participate in social and community activities.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance.
- Observe, monitor, and report any changes in clients’ physical or emotional wellbeing to the Manager promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care notes and MAR charts where applicable.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safeguarding, whistleblowing, confidentiality, and infection control.
- Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role, including Health and Safety, COSHH, and the Care Standards Act.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays where necessary.

General Duties
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Respect the privacy, dignity, and cultural values of each client.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
- Report any safeguarding, health and safety, or risk concerns immediately to management.


Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Manager.

Full training will be provided in line with regulatory requirements.
