Job Purpose: To broaden the range of meaningful interactions available to students and ensure that all students gain purposeful work experience during their time at college. To develop strong partnerships with employers and charities locally and regionally. Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain a strong network of contacts who are willing to provide opportunities for students to engage with them.Lead and coordinate all placement and work-related activities for studentsGrow placement and volunteering opportunities for our studentsAct as the main point of contact for students, parents, employers and staff for all placement and work-related learning enquiries.Proactively initiate, establish and maintain professional relationships that will provide placement opportunities for groups of students and individuals.Maintain an excellent understanding of the local and regional labour market, including (but not limited to) a focus on the Solent LSIP.Record all employer engagement accurately and promptly using a variety of IT systems.Support the college in promoting and running employment-focused careers events.Engage with staff across the college to garner their needs and support them in achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks (particularly 4, 5 & 6).Ensure that all placements meet minimum requirements and provide a safe learning environment for our students. Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, especially relating to placements and volunteering.Travel to employer premises to undertake health and safety checks, supervise student trips and engage with employers generally.Represent the college at networking events in the local area, including occasional out-of-hours events.Deliver presentations at college events such as Open Events, Taster Days and Careers EveningsAnalyse data relating to placements and employer engagement to prepare and disseminate reports.Actively engage with learners on a 1:1 and group basis to support their involvement in the planning and arranging of placements.Organise, collate and store records and documents relating to the placement programme to ensure that meaningful data is accurately maintained.Meet targets regarding placements and employer engagement.Support Directors of Curriculum and Subject Leaders to forge relationships with employers that will support them in embedding links into their curriculumSupervise and collaborate with the Placement Administrator.Lead and grow the Community Partnership ProgrammeEvaluate and review careers events, placements and volunteering opportunities
