A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the West London Children's Healthcare team in transforming care for children across North West London.

The post-holder will work in partnership with Consultant, nursing, and other clinical, operational and administrative colleagues to deliver high quality care for children at the West Middlesex Hospital site.

The post-holder will provide operational leadership and service delivery to paediatric specialties at West Middlesex, including general and acute paediatrics, paediatric surgical sub-specialties, and paediatric A&E. They will support the wider operational team and transformation team with the integration of Paediatric surgical specialties at West Middlesex into WLCH. They will also work with colleagues in other divisions on the Paediatric element of the ongoing Neonatal unit redesignation.

Our services have developed significantly since the creation of WLCH in 2022, and we are looking for a driven, dynamic and ambitious candidate who can add to our high-performing team.

West London Children’s Healthcare has three Clinical Directorates: General and Acute Medicine and Surgery; Critical Care and Medical Specialties and Child Development Services and Neurology. This Service Manager post is responsible for supporting these directorates at our West Middlesex hospital campus.

A comprehensive list of duties can be found within the job description.

In 2018, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College London stated their intent to collaborate on the development of an integrated care system for paediatric services spanning West London.

West London Children’s Healthcare unites paediatric services from across West London together into hubs that link closely together to support clinical care provision, research, education and training. The hubs are networked with referral hospitals and primary care networks to optimise local care wherever possible for children whatever complex healthcare needs they have and to facilitate a population health approach.

Over 1500 staff across 4 hospital sites with a bed base of 296 will come together to deliver £100m+ paediatric services providing over 115,000 outpatient attendances and 16,000 elective procedures annually, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of the almost half a million children and young people who live in west London.

The Service Manager will work closely and in partnership with other members of the Directorate’s management team, in particular Service Directors and Matrons, to achieve agreed performance, financial productivity targets and clinical quality indicators.

The Service Manager will assist the Deputy General Manager, General Manager and the Service Directors in the delivery of objectives across the Directorate as well as directly managing mutually agreed projects and service improvement initiatives.
