Consultant Psychiatrist – Specialism in Neuro-development Disorders (Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Autism)
10 Programmed Activities per week
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious consultant to take ona full-timeclinical leadership role within our Adult Community Learning Disability Service. The successful candidate must be comfortable working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, be flexible in approach and display exceptional communication, diplomacy and negotiating skills.
You will be working primarily with adults 18+ with mild, moderate to profound learning disabilities to manage co-morbid mental illness and challenging behaviours. You will also have shared input into our Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessment, diagnosis and treatment service, and our Autism assessment and diagnosis service.We are also undergoing an exciting period of transformation to integrate with Adult Social Care; and it is hoped that the integration will improve collaborative working between services to provide exceptional standard, high quality care to individuals who are living with a Learning Disability, ADHD or Autism.
The Isle of Wight is located off the south coast of England and has a population of approx. 140,000. It has much to offer in the way of outdoor leisure pursuits, family living and is also home to numerous music festivals throughout the summer months. It is a beautiful place to live and relax after work. Connections to the mainland are frequent, fast and efficient, with a choice of crossings via Red Funnel, Wighlink or Hovercraft from Southampton, Southsea, Lymington or Portsmouth, all of which are 90 minutes by rail from London.
