Person Specification: Key results areas: To understand the role of the Peer Support Worker and communicate it to service users, carers and other professionals. To understand the roles of the multidisciplinary team and the service that is being provided. Understand how the Peer Support Worker role fits alongside the clinical team. Utilise your lived experience to support individuals and groups using the service. To listen to the service users experience and understand their journey through the service and on to the community. To use parts of your recovery story to inspire hope in others where appropriate. To be a positive role model for other people overcoming mental health challenges, other workers and families or carers Qualifications: Essential A recognised qualification in an area related to the workplace such as social care, healthcare, or peer support or equivalent experience/life skills (full peer support training will be given). Evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning Desirable Health care or relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
