Summary
To function and carry out the duties of a Pastoral Support worker within the Department of Pastoral and Spiritual Care, providing for the pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious needs of service users, relatives and staff in rooms designated for prayer and worship, ward areas and communities across all locations of the Trust May occasionally work in challenging environments which could include lone working and conflict resolution. Undertake and maintain the required statutory, mandatory and core training as required by the specific area of service. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. To provide pastoral and spiritual care within both hospital and community locations where requested, and on a visiting rota with the Chaplains. To meet as far as possible the particular spiritual and pastoral needs of patients, staff and relatives belonging to the pastoral support workers denomination or religion and to respond where appropriate to requests for help or advice from patients staff and relatives of other cultural or religious backgrounds. To facilitate staff and service user support in hospital and community locations. (e.g. Meditation, visiting) Jobs will be planned out by the senior chaplain and passed to the job holder To be an active presence around the hospital and community locations To refer any complex needs to a senior Chaplain
