• Positive behaviour management with a therapeutic approach
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• ELSA/mental health first aid qualification/experience desirable, or willingness to undertake training

The right candidate will:

• Have a nurturing outlook and approach
• Plan, prepare and deliver high quality ELSA sessions for both groups and individuals
• Work with identified pupils to overcome barriers linked to anxiety, mental health,confidence and resilience
• Assess, record and report on development progress in emotional literacy and wellbeing to staff and parents
• Develop positive relationships with students,parents and staff
• Promote resilience, confidence and independence through positive routines,modelling and encouragement
• Have an ability to work using their own initiative
• Have a high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults and build trust
• Be resilient, adaptive and have good behaviour management
• Be a team player and work closely with other staff members within the school
• Have experience of working with children with SEN
• Have knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
• Able to deliver prepared lessons to cover staff absence
