Legal & Secretariat is a forward-looking and innovative function with a clear ambition to be multi-skilled and agile, capitalising on technology and informed by data. The Governance Management and Optimisation team is part of Corporate Governance within Legal & Secretariat and is responsible for:

Setting the standards for Group wide entity management as well as overseeing and delivering proportionate, effective and tech-enabled end-to-end corporate governance for a diverse range of Group subsidiary entities.

Leading continuous improvement and automation of corporate governance processes.
Our team is made up of qualified governance professionals, technology developers and support colleagues and we use data to tell stories, identify areas for improvement and make those improvements happen! Our stakeholders are from all parts of the Group, including its most senior leaders.
You'll join our team as one of two colleagues responsible for overseeing a team of Corporate Governance Assistants who form our Corporate Governance Support Team. The Corporate Governance Support team are involved in a wide range of activities, all with the purpose of ensuring the smooth running and success of our Corporate Governance teams. The tasks supported will focus on administration processes, reporting and data management and working closely with our leadership team supporting in their day-to-day tasks. The role offers a varied workload and plenty of opportunity for development.
Your role will also involve the delivery of corporate governance tasks, process optimisation and automation.
Day-to-day, you will:

Task manage the Corporate Governance Support Team, with a focus on colleague training and development, to provide proactive support to our Corporate Governance teams and stakeholders.

Build strong working relationships with Corporate Governance colleagues. You will identify and map routine and specialised administration tasks and ensure delivery of tailored administrative support where required.

Manage, design and troubleshoot our Corporate Governance Support Team processes to ensure efficiency across the team.

Manage and response to escalations from members of the Corporate Governance Support Team

Assist in offering strategic governance advice to Group entities.

Perform and support company secretarial tasks for Group entities including preparation of documents, agendas, meeting packs, minutes and logs, and related logistical support.

Use the full functionality of Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and PowerPoint, and other core business applications like Diligent Entities and Board Intelligence.

Promote a supportive, diverse colleague culture, that empowers colleagues to deliver on all areas including wellbeing, development and continuous improvement.

Analyse data and trends in administrative support requests to find opportunities for process improvement, technology deployment or automation.

Liaise, where required, with the Legal Support Team which supports our legal colleagues.

What you'll need
You'll play a vital role in leading, coaching and developing the Corporate Governance Support Team. The ideal candidate will have:

Corporate governance experience, preferably with a UK corporate governance qualification.

Strong communication and organisational skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Capable of prioritising your own workload to deadlines without losing your eye for detail, and appropriately resourcing incoming requests.

Enthusiastic and proactive approach to work, with a strong ability to take initiative.

Ability to use data and MI to produce insightful analysis and reporting as well as a keen interest in the use of technology and automation to support corporate governance work, administration and/or data analysis and visualisation
And any experience of these would be really useful

Experience of Power Platform technology, or a desire to upskill, to support development of corporate governance solutions.
