    The school

    Our Carlisle-based secondary school is a well-regarded hub for STEM education. With consistently strong results in Science at GCSE and A-Level, we offer:

      Training structure

      4+1 Model: Train four days a week in school, with one day (Wednesdays) reserved for online PGCE study and professional development.

      • Sept–Dec: Observe lessons, team-teach with your mentor, build confidence
      • Jan–Mar: Lead planning and delivery of Science lessons, develop assessment and practical skills
      • Apr–Jul: Teach independently, refine your classroom management, complete your PGCE + QTS

        What you'll need

        • A degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a related science field (2:1 or higher preferred)
        • OR strong A-level Physics or Chemistry
        • Passion for Science and education
        • Excellent communication and organisation skills
        • Commitment to learning and developing as a teacher
        • A driving licence is helpful but not essential – Carlisle has strong transport links
