Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Controller Technician to join the UK's leading Vehicle Recycling Company, The Green Parts Specialists in Skelmersdale WN8 9SU.
A QC Technician will ensure vehicle parts meet the highest quality standards before dispatch by performing thorough inspections and carrying out manual dismantling tasks on doors and boot lids (including removing door cards, window regulators, handles, glass, and other components). The role supports accuracy, safety, and compliance throughout the process, guaranteeing parts are fit for resale and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities: -
- Perform detailed quality inspections on vehicle parts prior to dispatch, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer specifications.
- Verify part condition and accuracy against order details and quality criteria.
- Carry out manual stripping tasks, including removing door cards, window regulators, handles, glass, and other components from doors and boot lids, following safety and quality procedure
- Conduct final inspections for body shop items, ensuring they meet stringent quality requirements before release.
- Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or non-conforming parts for corrective action.
- Update company systems with inspection results and relevant notes.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and quality checks for audit purposes.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards during inspections.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes.
What we need from you: -
- Strong attention to detail for identifying defects and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic computer literacy for updating inspection records and using company systems.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple inspections efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for reporting issues and working collaboratively across departments.
- Problem-solving ability to identify root causes of quality issues and suggest improvements.
- Experience in quality control or inspection within an automotive or similar environment is desirable (training provided for entry-level candidates).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools for stripping tasks.
