Summary
Lead Teaching Assistant (permanent) role available at Ash Field Academy
Salary: Grade 8 Pay Point 15-18 (FTE salary £28,605 - £31,029 per annum)
Approximate actual starting salary: £21,497.02 per annum
Hours: 32.5 hours per week ; 39 weeks per year (Term-time only plus Inset days)
Working Pattern:
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 08:30am to 15:30pm.
Tuesday 08:30am to 16:00pm.
Friday 09:00am to 15:30pm
(inclusive of 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Appointment will be subject to Discovery Academy Trust pay and conditions.
Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period

Main Duties and Responsibilities
To support class teachers with the delivery of the curriculum and all aspects of personal and social development.
To lead the class in times of teacher absence such as a planned absence or a short-term sickness absence.
Under the direction of the class teacher, help to prepare resources and the learning environment so that pupils have the best access to learning.
To assist the class teacher in lesson planning and the creation of effective learning opportunities.
We are looking for someone who has:
Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy
Experience of supporting planning, evaluation and delivery of learning activities for children and young people in a formal setting.
Knowledge of child protection, health and safety procedures and their application in a school setting.
Awareness of a range of frameworks that support the education, development and well-being of children.
Ability to effectively manage pupil behaviour in accordance with school policy and procedure.
