In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth running of our home/service unit. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility, including assisting in the kitchen and laundry, and supporting the overall well-being of our children.

Working as a Domestic Assistant is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be an essential part of the team, helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, colleagues, and visitors alike. You’ll also have the chance to contribute to our continued improvement by promoting best practices, attending training, and participating in staff meetings.

Who we are looking for…

We are seeking a hardworking individual who is passionate about creating a positive environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to manage their time effectively to meet cleaning schedules and support the team as needed. You will need to be attentive, alert, and ready to assist both colleagues and children at any given time.

Key skills and attributes we are looking for:

Experience in domestic, cleaning, or housekeeping roles (preferable but not essential).
A proactive and flexible approach to work, willing to assist in other areas, including laundry and kitchen support.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations and experience in handling cleaning materials safely (training will be provided).
Attention to detail and the ability to follow a cleaning schedule to a high standard.
Good communication skills and a team player attitude, with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace.
Willingness to attend training and development events in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) / Ofsted requirements.
Commitment to safeguarding the security and welfare of children by adhering to policies and reporting concerns as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning all areas of the home/service unit according to the schedule.
Supporting laundry and kitchen duties as required.
Ensuring cleaning equipment is maintained and reporting faults promptly.
Following Health & Safety procedures and ensuring the safe storage and use of cleaning materials.
Actively participating in staff meetings and contributing to ongoing quality improvement.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, committed to upholding health and safety standards, and ready to be part of a team that supports the well-being of children in a meaningful way.
