Summary

As a Gardener, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and upkeep of our extensive horticultural areas, ensuring they remain well-maintained and welcoming.

A hardworking, enthusiastic, and versatile Gardener to join our well-established Gardening team, supporting the maintenance of our extensive grounds and gardens to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will be allocated tasks and receive guidance throughout your role. Whilst previous experience in horticulture would be advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day care and upkeep of a variety of horticultural areas, including formal borders, lawns, woodland areas, kitchen gardens, and more to ensure they remain a beautiful and welcoming environment.

This is a full-time position, working any 5 days from 7, with typical working hours between 07:00 to 15:30.

Qualifications
• Genuine passion for horticulture and working with nature.
• Experience in gardening or grounds maintenance, either professional or personal.
• Good teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
• Level 3 Horticulture and PA1 or PA6 certification is desirable.
• Chainsaw Licence to level 2 is desirable.
• Tractor Licence is desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence is desirable.

Additional Information
• Trimming and maintaining hedges to keep them neat and tidy.
• Pruning shrubs and plants to encourage healthy growth.
• Weeding all areas, including flowerbeds and paved paths.
• Carrying out regular plant and lawn care throughout the year.
• Planting new stock as needed.
• Mowing, edging, and treating lawns to keep them in good condition.
• Refreshing borders with soil care, mulching, and general maintenance.
• Assisting with greenhouse work, including propagation and looking after young plants.
• Helping maintain woodland or orchard areas, including basic tree and ground care.
• Supporting the setup of new planting schemes and small landscape projects.
