What you'll be doing;
- Lead a small team to to operate the plant safely and efficiently to maximise productivity
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permits.
- Operate / monitor plant from a Central Control Room,
- Supervise and deploy manpower as appropriate to ensure cost effective, safe and efficient operation of all activities on site.
- Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work at the ERF.
- Provide effective training and monitoring of shift staff
- Provide effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health and Safety policies.
- Monitoring contractors while working on site
- Lead by example and support the site management team to show, promote and acknowledge positive behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture
- Liaise with other companies' staff as required to provide efficient work scheduling and planning to ensure minimum turnaround times during plant outages
What we're looking for;
- An experienced Shift Team Leader ideally having completed a recognised Engineering
- Qualification/Operational Training course. Experience of working in power generation or with steam raising plant
- Experience of leading a shift team and shift working in a continuous process operation preferably on steam generating equipment. Waste incineration experience is desirable.
- Supervise and deploy manpower as appropriate to ensure cost effective, safe and efficient operation of all activities on site, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences.
- Experience of working in power generation or with steam raising plant
- Experience as a Senior Authorised Person / Control Person
- A good engineering background
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Good understanding of environmental and safety legislation
- To have worked on a shift rota previously and understand the demands this has.
