We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our client's inclusive and supportive educational setting in Redbridge, Greater London. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive the support and guidance they require to reach their full potential.
As a SENDCo, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing appropriate interventions and support strategies for pupils with SEND. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and maintain effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your expertise and guidance will be instrumental in creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all pupils.

Key responsibilities:
- Assessing and identifying pupils with SEND, ensuring early intervention and support
- Developing and implementing effective IEPs and EHCPs in collaboration with teachers and support staff
- Coordinating the provision of appropriate interventions and support strategies for pupils with SEND
- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of pupils with SEND, adapting support as necessary
- Liaising with external agencies, such as educational psychologists and speech and language therapists
- Providing guidance and training to staff on SEND-related matters, promoting inclusive teaching practices
- Engaging with parents and carers, ensuring effective communication and partnership working
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to SEND provision
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the school's SEND policy
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant postgraduate qualification in SEND
- Proven experience as a SENDCo or in a similar role within an educational setting
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in using ICT for record-keeping and data analysis
