We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant to join our Adult Nutrition and Dietetic Nutrition Support Team at Edgware Community Hospital.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our Home Enteral Feeding Team (HEFT) and Nutrition Support service, working alongside specialist dietitians to deliver high-quality care to adults who require tube feeding or specialist nutritional support.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys both hands-on patient interaction and behind-the-scenes support, combining clinical, administrative, and community-based work.
• Support dietitians in providing nutritional care to patients receiving tube feeding or oral nutrition support.
• Manage your own delegated caseload of community patients, including booking and conducting weight monitoring visits and group sessions.
• Assist with patient assessments, record keeping, and accurate data entry on clinical systems.
• Liaise with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, ensuring clear and compassionate communication.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold data protection standards.
• Organise and prioritise your workload independently, seeking guidance where appropriate.
• Contribute to service improvement and development within the Nutrition and Dietetic team.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Caring, reliable, and genuinely passionate about supporting patient wellbeing.
• Has previous experience in nutrition support, or background knowledge or training in a nutrition related subject would be advantageous.
• Organised and confident working independently or as part of a team.
• Have good organisational and time management skills.
• A good communicator with empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients.
• IT literate and comfortable using digital systems for data entry and communication.
• Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
