We are seeking reliable, motivated and enthusiastic Cleaners to join our dedicated cleaning team, working flexibly across Seaton Valley High School and Whytrig Middle School. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in helping us maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment across our new school buildings, ensuring that students, staff and visitors can work and learn in high-quality surroundings.
As part of our team, you will contribute to the day-to-day cleanliness and hygiene of the schools, taking pride in creating a positive first impression for everyone who uses our facilities. You will be supported by our experienced team of Caretakers and will work alongside colleagues who are committed to maintaining the highest standards across all areas of the site.
Working hours: 3.15pm to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time plus 12 days during the holidays.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across designated areas, including classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, corridors, offices, communal areas and toilet facilities. Duties will include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, maintaining cleaning stock levels and ensuring that all assigned areas are completed to the required standard within the allocated time. You will also work flexibly as directed to support wider cleaning needs across the school, particularly during busy periods or special events.
You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, but also as part of a team when required. Previous experience of cleaning in a commercial, educational or similar environment would be an advantage, as you will be expected to use a range of cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Staff are required to follow the school’s health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
We place a high value on excellent attendance, reliability and punctuality, as these are essential qualities in maintaining a consistent and dependable cleaning service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, attention to detail, and some flexibility with working hours when necessary, for example during school events or to support staff absence.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. As such, an enhanced criminal records check will be required for this post.
