In summer 2025, we launched our brand-new live online chat channel , giving customers instant support from their first enquiry through to contract completion. As this digital service grows, we’re expanding our team to ensure every customer receives a fast, friendly and engaging experience.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Web Chat Assistant to join our team in the new year. You will welcome customers through our live chat service, answer their questions, and guide them through their first steps with Restore Datashred. You will work in a fast paced environment with support from experienced colleagues and an AI system that helps you provide clear and accurate information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Being the first point of contact for customers using our live chat
- Responding promptly and professionally to enquiries from new and existing customers
- Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable services
- Providing accurate information on our shredding, recycling and confidential waste solutions
- Supporting customers from initial enquiry through to contract sign-up
- Managing and recording interactions through chat and CRM systems
- Escalating more complex queries to the right internal teams
- Keeping your knowledge of our services and processes up to date
- Working closely with sales and customer service colleagues to deliver a consistent experience
- Supporting the sales administration team with general tasks as required
- Sharing ideas on how we can improve engagement and customer experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Customer service or sales support experience (online, retail or contact centre)
- Confidence using live chat platforms or digital communication tools
- Strong written English with excellent grammar
- Ability to manage multiple conversations simultaneously
- A positive, helpful and customer-focused approach
- Good IT skills and confidence with learning new systems
Desirable
- Experience using CRM systems
- Understanding of sales processes or lead handling
- Interest in sustainability, data security or environmental services
- Previous experience in busy customer-facing environments
