Summary
Our client is looking to recruit experienced Occupational Therapists to join their Adult Social Care Complex Occupational Therapy Service.This is a pivotal role where you will manage a complex caseload of adults with multiple pathologies, including psychological, neurological, emotional, behavioural, and age-related conditions. You will also provide direct line supervision to a diverse team of qualified and unqualified staff, including Independent Living Assessors, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Sensory Officers, and Advanced Practitioner Independent Living Assessors.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions that promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing, while ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks such as the Care Act 2014, Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and other relevant legislation.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:15 PM Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on FridaysHybrid - 2 days p/w in office Dates: asap - 13/02/2026 (Temporary Contract, will be reviewed after February) Pay Rate: £36/hr umbrella (no limited companies)
Your new roleAssess and advise residents on all aspects of daily living, including complex home adaptations and specialist equipment.Develop intervention plans for highly complex cases, including bespoke seating and non-standard adaptations.Authorise equipment orders within agreed thresholds.Supervise and support staff, ensuring competencies are continually updated as practice evolves.Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure residents receive holistic support.Undertake carers' assessments, capacity assessments, and liaise with safeguarding teams where appropriate.Maintain accurate records, statistics, and contribute to departmental policy development.Represent the OT service at meetings and working groups.Support the ongoing development of the OT team and contribute to service improvement projects.
Essential Qualifications and ExperienceWe are seeking motivated and forward-thinking Occupational Therapists who combine technical expertise with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.HCPC registration.Minimum of 3 years' experience in Adult Social Care or equivalent OT setting.Demonstrable experience working with complex needs across a range of age groups.Expertise in prescribing and demonstrating complex moving and handling equipment (hoists, slings, sliding sheets).Practical knowledge of specialist seating provision and adjustments.Ability to design and prescribe highly specialist home modifications.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity in delivering tailored solutions.Proven people management and coaching skills.Good negotiation skills, and service orientation.Confidence in using IT systems.
