Your new company
Hays Accountancy and Finance are proud to be exclusively working with a global manufacturing business to recruit a temporary accounts assistant role in their Chesterfield office.
This role will be full time (37 hours) and fully in office, for a current 3 month basis with the potential for extension.
Please note a driving licence is required for this role as there may be occasional travel to other UK sites.
Your new role
Update and maintain daily Accounts Payable tasks, including (but not limited to):
- Posting invoices
- Creating payments
- Reconciling statements
- Responding to queries
- Filing documents
Ensure all bank payments are posted daily in the ERP system.
Answer telephone calls politely and promptly.
Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.
Maintain adequate supplies of stationery and other office consumables.
Provide administrative support to the Financial Controller.
Prepare information required by the Financial Controller for monthly management reports.
Assist with preparation of VAT returns as needed.
Support monthly bank reconciliations.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a like for like AP/Accounts assistant role.
You must be immediately available - with a projected start date of 8th Dec 2025.
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing businesses ideal
Multi-system knowledge beneficial
