We are recruiting for a nursery room leader to work in the baby room! You must possess a level 3 qualification in childcare as well as have previous experience working as a room leader or practitioner to apply for this role.
The role is full-time, all year-round position
Duties
Leadership & Management of baby room
Lead and oversee the daily running of the baby room, ensuring a calm, caring, and stimulating environment.
Supervise, guide, and support practitioners and apprentices in line with nursery policies.
Delegate responsibilities effectively and ensure staff understand their roles and routines.
Act as a positive role model, promoting best practice in early years care and education.
Plan, observe, and assess children’s development using the EYFS framework (or local equivalent).
Provide personalised care and learning experiences that meet each child’s individual needs.
Encourage babies’ physical, emotional, and social development through play and interaction.
Maintain an inviting, age-appropriate, and safe environment that promotes curiosity and exploration.
Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children at all times.
Follow safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular risk assessments of the room, resources, and equipment.
Record and report accidents, incidents, and medication accurately and promptly.
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers, sharing regular updates on children’s progress.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to maintain consistency across the nursery.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision discussions.
Promote an inclusive, respectful environment that celebrates diversity and individuality.
Keep accurate, up-to-date records of children’s learning, development, and attendance.
Contribute to planning, monitoring, and evaluating room routines and activities.
Support compliance with nursery policies, regulatory standards, and inspection requirements (e.g. Ofsted).
Assist with the continuous improvement and development of the nursery’s provision.
Your Qualifications and experience:
Level 3 childcare qualification (essential)
experience working in the baby room (preferable)
salary paying up to: £33k per year
