Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:

• Can support SEND children and their families through identifying barriers to learning and adopting strategies that help overcome these
• Demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive education for all children through working with staff and families to formulate personal plans for improvement
• Use a knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and understand the EHCP process and Early Help services to support pupils and families
• Work alongside teachers to provide advice and develop impactful class strategies
• Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND provision across the school
• Form positive relationships; inspire and motivate all children to enable them to be the best that they can be
• Keep up to date and accurate records of support and the impact regarding SEND provision
• Review and update all records to ensure that statutory requirements are met
• Work in partnership with the Headteacher, LAB and wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos is translated into action
• Participate in Trust-wide inclusion meetings
• Attend meetings with parents, teachers and other providers to ensure all pupils’ needs are met
• Ensure an inclusive school experience for all learners, not just those with SEND
• Work with the wider team to close the gap for vulnerable and disadvantaged learners
• Holds the National SENDCo Qualification or has a willingness to work towards the qualification
