Your new company
Hays Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a Runcorn-based two-form entry primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking for a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to join their resource base on a full-time temporary basis, starting in January and lasting until at least the end of the academic year. You will be working in collaboration with the class teacher to engage with a small class of 7 pupils in KS2 with SEMH needs, the majority of which have been subject to significant previous trauma. You will lead on ELSA interventions and well-being support, offering 1:1 sessions cross the class on a required basis
Other duties will include:
- Direct liaison with the head teacher and SENCO on pupil progress and further requirements
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Taking a trauma informed approach to education and behavioural strategies
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, have a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:
- Have experience supporting SEMH and/or trauma
- Have experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract (32.5 hours per week)
- Having an NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
