Crynodeb
The Governance Facilitator will support the Lead Midwife for Governance in the operational delivery of risk management across Basildon maternity services. The role requires a patient-centered approach and a commitment to promoting an open and transparent culture, improving clinical safety and quality. The post holder will lead the day-to-day management of incidents, complaints, and risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including CQC requirements and the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). They will provide expert midwifery input, coordinate investigations and case reviews, and support the delivery of the Clinical Governance Assurance Framework. The role involves active participation in key governance meetings, deputising for the Lead Midwife for Governance as required, and line management of the Governance Coordinator. The post holder will contribute to policy and service development, support staff in clinical governance, and ensure that national, local, and regulatory standards are consistently met.
