Summary

Job Description

Working in a hybrid style, based at home and Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on a temporary basis for one year.

Requirements

​You will have 5 National 5s, including English and Maths, or equivalent.

You will have relevant experience of working within an advice, Welfare Rights or social work benefits assessment environment.

Responsibilities

You will provide support to members of the public and specific client groups of the Social Work Department on statutory benefits and other welfare services as appropriate and encourage the take-up of such benefits and services by the public and particular client groups of the Social Work Department

The Individual

You will have the ability to work with and understand the concerns of vulnerable people and have experience with benefit claim forms.

Good time management skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage case load and work on own initiative are essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
