Requirements
You will have a degree in relevant subject, eg law, Social Science or equivalent experience working in a welfare rights or money advice related post.You will have a high standard of numeracy and literacy
Responsibilities
You will provide advice, consultation and an advocacy service to members of the public on statutory benefits and other welfare services as appropriate, and encourage the take-up of such benefits and services by the public.You will provide a full money advice/debt counselling service to members of the public.
The Individual
You will have previous experience working in either the welfare rights or money advice sectors and working knowledge of existing benefit and debt/credit legislation.You will have good oral/written communication skills, the ability to work within a complex legislative system and understand legislative sources and the ability to manage own workload with good time management skills.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
