We aim to support all of our learners to strive to reach their potential and leave to a positive and sustained destination. We aim to be the best we can, in all that we do for our learners and to give them a high quality educational experience.
Our curriculum provides a full range of subjects from S1-S6. We aim to meet the needs of all our young people, providing a curriculum that is appropriate in terms of breadth, depth and challenge. We endeavour to treat all our young people as individuals and hope that they, their parents/carers and the community will work in partnership to provide them with the support and opportunities that will enable them to make their next educational steps. Our young people are encouraged to access the extensive and varied menu of extra-curricular activities on offer. There is a proud tradition of excellent education in Haddington and the young people, staff and parents/carers of the school work hard to continue this.
Our Pupil Support Workers are an important and valued part of our integrated Pupil Support Team.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can:

- Work as part of the team around children with a range of learning needs, building and maintaining strong relationships in the wider school community
- Exhibit the interpersonal skills required to play a full part in safeguarding and nurturing young people, offering the right balance of challenge and support
- Use their initiative and work responsively to meet the needs of the young people in their care
- Commit to viewing themselves as a lifelong learning, seeking out and taking up opportunities to continually improve their practice
The role is varied with day-to-day responsibilities including one-to-one sessions with young people, small group interventions and communication with families. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people’s lives.
