Summary
Blackpool Coastal Housing provides an Ofsted registered supported accommodation home at two sites within Blackpool, for young people aged 16 to 18.
We are looking for someone who can lead by example, demonstrating empathy, understanding, positivity, kindness, and a calm, level-headed approach. CASUAL YOUNG PERSONS RESETTLEMENT WORKER
“Supporting young people in supported accommodation”
Rate of Pay: £15.08 per hour for hours worked Monday to Friday.
Weekend hours will be paid at £22.62 per hour (SCP 5b @1.5 rate)
Plus an additional payment will be made for covering a sleep in (currently £41.78) on an-hoc basis
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in Blackpool supporting young people to live happy, safe, healthy and fulfilled lives, this role involves providing essential staff cover at our 24-hour Ofsted registered supported accommodation home.
Typical day as a Young Persons Resettlement Officer Worker
• You will manage the day to day running of the house and support young people to reach their full potential through inspiring, motivating and positively influencing them to prosper in the community in which they will live.
• You will provide support to empower young people to maintain their accommodation and learn a variety of life skills, including cooking and money management to enhance their future prospects.
• You will encourage our young people into further education, training and employment, to set clear goals and encouraging their participation in meaningful activities, developing links with statutory and community services.
• Ensure the safety and security of the building, carrying out regular Health and Safety checks, room checks, assisting with fire risk assessments and ensuring all repairs are completed within timescales.
• You will be identifying and dealing with safeguarding concerns.
• Carryout a thorough risk assessment making further enquires by liaising with other professionals and identifying control measures to reduce and manage risk.
The successful candidates will be excellent communicators with a confident manner and will have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will have demonstrable experience of working with young people with a range of support needs. Knowledge of young people’s rights and a clear understanding of professional boundaries is essential.
You must have 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) to include Maths and English. Travel across both sites maybe required, as service needs dictate, so flexibility is required.
We provide a 24-hour, 7 day a week service so the successful candidate will be required to cover regular sleep-in duties, evening, weekend and bank holiday working as per a rota, so flexibility is essential.
Any offer of appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as a CRB check).
