Summary

Vehicle Diagnostic Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician

Location: Cambridge
Salary: Up to £36,500 Basic + £60,000 OTE (Uncapped)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30 + Saturday on rota
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

    The Role

    As a key technical expert in our workshop, you’ll be responsible for advanced diagnostics and repair work that keeps our customers safely on the road.

    Your Responsibilities Include:
    • Diagnostics: Fault finding using dealer-level diagnostic software and equipment


    • Repairs: Electrical and mechanical repair work, servicing, and maintenance


    • Quality: Accurately completing job cards and service documentation


    • Standards: Ensuring all work meets manufacturer and safety requirements


    • Customer Focus: Providing clear, professional technical advice when required


      What We Need From You

      • Qualifications: MUST hold NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair


      • Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Vehicle Diagnostic Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician


      • Tools: Own comprehensive tool kit required


      • Licence: Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 points; licence checks apply)


      • Right to Work: We cannot provide sponsorship — you must already have the right to work in the UK


      • Desirable: MOT Tester licence (not essential; support available if you wish to gain it)
