Kirkwall Grammar School is a six-year secondary school in Orkney with a catchment area covering the town of Kirkwall, East Mainland and the Outer Islands. The current school roll is approximately 850 pupils.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised and self-motivated person to build our capacity to deal with modern technologies. This post will assist the technician department in the provision of first line user support to staff and pupils.

Your main duties will include resolving hardware and software problems and first line maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment. You will also carry out specified day-to-day tasks for a variety of other departments including Science, Technical, Business Technology and Enterprise and Drama.

A relevant educational qualification at HNC or equivalent with with previous experience in a similar role.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to a Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with children.
