One YMCA Youth Clubs offer safe, engaging spaces for young people aged 9–18 to connect, learn, and grow.
We are seeking a dynamic Youth Work Coordinator to lead the development of our Bedford Town Centre Youth Clubs and activities. You’ll take the lead on setting up new clubs, coordinating sessions, supporting staff and volunteers, and working closely with local partners and stakeholders.
You’ll play a vital role in shaping positive opportunities for young people, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
This role involves working approximately 2–3 days per week after school, with some evening commitments as required. Additional time will be allocated for planning and administrative tasks, bringing the total to 37.5 hours per week.
What We’re Looking For
• The role involves both outreach and centre-based youth work, aligned with the YMCA Youth Work Strategy and Principles
• A passion for working with young people and helping them reach their potential
• Experience in youth work or a related field (paid or voluntary)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work with a range of partners and manage a small team
• A willingness to undertake a Level 3 or Level 6 qualification in Youth Work (essential)
What We Offer
• Opportunity to accrue additional leave (up to 5 extra days)
• Learning and career development opportunities, including paid and tailored training in youth work
• Free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, including counselling and GP access
• Employer contributory pension scheme
• Good maternity, paternity, and compassionate leave
• Health and wellbeing initiatives
• Employee discount scheme for brands, travel, groceries, and more
We look forward to reading your application and welcoming you to our passionate Youth Work team at One YMCA!

As some of our roles involve working with vulnerable members of society, this position may require a Basic or Enhanced Criminal Disclosure, which will be conducted once a conditional offer is made
We welcome applications from all qualified candidates. However, if you have applied for a similar role within the last 6 months and were not successful, please consider whether your experience has developed further before reapplying
We are committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout our recruitment process and will strive to be as accommodating as possible. Please inform us in advance of any arrangements you may need to fully participate in the process.
