Summary

Electoral Services Manager
Full-time (37 Hours) – Permanent
Grade D2 - £48,226 - £50,269 per annum

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead and manage our dedicated Electoral Services Team. This post puts you at the heart of local democracy, delivering a vital front-line function that ensures every eligible resident has the opportunity to vote.

Job Requirements:
• Elections qualification or able to demonstrate experience of people and project management
• Experience of electoral registration process and elections, including giving advice, guidance and support to key stakeholders (desirable)
• Experience of producing complex, detailed and accurate written work
• Knowledge of applications and systems such as Microsoft Office, as well as aptitude to learn to use bespoke Electoral Management Software systems
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the team in maintaining an accurate electoral register, overseeing voter registration and absent voting processes
• Lead on elements of the operational delivery of Parliamentary, Mayoral, District and Parish elections and Referendums including the implementation of election changes following the Election Act 2022
• Provide advice and guidance to the Chief Executive / Returning Officer, Elected members, Council Officers, candidates and other key stakeholders on Elections, electoral law and electoral registration
• Work with the Electoral Commission and regional leads, navigating evolving guidance and ensuring compliance at every stage.

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this politically-restricted role, to support the delivery of this fast-paced and highly specialised area, operating within a complex legislative framework and to strict statutory deadlines.
