We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our engineering team across Croydon sites.​

In this hands-on role, you will support the delivery of high-quality PPM and reactive maintenance, ensuring building standards, safety, and reliability remain consistently high.

Job Description

You will work closely with the Technical Services Shift Leader to embed a Best in Class approach to engineering and fabric services.​

In addition, you will help ensure that all plant, equipment, and building fabric perform effectively, remain compliant, and meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Complete scheduled PPM tasks and respond to reactive maintenance requests raised through the helpdesk.

Deliver M&E and fabric repairs and alterations as instructed, ensuring safe working practices at all times.

Carry out minor maintenance activities across plant, equipment, and building fabric.

Support the Technical Services Shift Leader with the planning, execution, and close-out of planned maintenance tasks on the Concept CAFM system.

Assist in managing and updating the asset database, supporting accurate lifecycle performance reporting.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within M&E and fabric services, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

Maintain a safe environment for building users, the engineering team, and contractors at all times.

rovide general building maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and fabric disciplines as part of a small multi-disciplinary team.

Participate in the on-call rota to support out-of-hours response requirements.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Practical experience completing varied building maintenance tasks across the FM sector (e.g., painting, decorating, basic carpentry, plumbing, fabric repairs).

Confident working across mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance tasks.
A flexible, proactive team player with a strong customer-service mindset.

Able to work safely, follow procedures, and prioritise workload effectively.

No formal qualifications required; however, IPAF or PASMA certifications would be beneficial.

Willingness to support occasional out-of-hours/on-call duties.
