Summary

Year 1 Class Teacher - Fixed Term Contract (January to July 2026)

Salary: Up to £42,000 FTE

We are looking for an experienced Year 1 Class Teacher to join a highly regarded independent preparatory school in North London on a fixed‑term contract from January to July 2026 to cover maternity leave.

The school has been praised in its inspection reports for its strong academic outcomes, nurturing ethos, and commitment to pupil wellbeing. With small class sizes and a collaborative staff team, teachers are able to deliver high‑quality lessons while giving each child the individual attention they deserve.

About the Role:
- Lead a Year 1 class of 15 pupils (no SEN)
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school's ethos of excellence and care
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
- Fixed term contract: January - July 2026

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - not suitable for ECTs
- Previous UK teaching experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and effective classroom practice
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and support young learners
