Cleaner / Handyperson –(N12 Area)
We are seeking an experienced Cleaner/Handyperson to join our small and friendly care home located in the N12 area. This role is essential in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 1:00pm (20 hours per week)
Salary: £12.30 per hour
Role Overview:
The Cleaner/Handyperson will be responsible for ensuring the home is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and that minor repairs and general maintenance tasks are carried out promptly. You will play an important part in creating a pleasant, well-maintained environment for both residents and staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning Duties:
• Dusting, hoovering, and mopping all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, lounge areas, kitchen, hallways.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms and to maintain hygiene standards.
• Restocking and refilling cleaning supplies and toiletries such as toilet rolls, paper towels, and hand wash.
• Monthly deep cleaning and disinfection tasks
• Safe disposal of waste and recycling.
Handyperson / Maintenance Duties:
• Minor repairs such as replacing toilet seats, tightening fixtures, filling sealant gaps, and unclogging sinks.
• Basic plumbing tasks including changing taps when needed.
• Light gardening duties such as cutting a small lawn and clearing outdoor areas of leaves and debris.
• Occasional carpet washing and upkeep of cleaning equipment.
• Reporting any major repairs or safety concerns promptly.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, caretaking, or a similar role is essential.
• Good understanding of cleaning practices, safety procedures, and minor repair work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and respectful with a friendly attitude.
• Able to prioritise tasks and take initiative.
