There is an exciting career opportunity for a highly motivated and suitably experienced nurse to join the team of Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist at Guys and St Thomas' Hospital within the gynae-oncology services.
Gynae-Oncology is part of the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Group with an aim of bringing excellent, high-quality care to patients during their cancer journey.
The post holder will be expected to have a knowledge of cancer pathways, gynaecology experience and a passion to holistically support patients from the moment of diagnosis.
The CNS team work closely with the medical team and other healthcare professional to ensure patients receive the best care possible. A high level of communications skills are key to being successful in this role.
The successful candidate with enjoy and have the ability to work within a team and autonomously when needed.

The main duties of the role include working autonomously to manage a caseload of patients and provide advice, support and expertise through a patients investigations, diagnosis and treatment.
The post holder will work along with the multidisciplinary team whilst delivering personalised care.

The post holder will work within a team of Gynae-oncology clinical nurse specialists, self-managing time to attend clinics, complete ward rounds and attend MDMs. Patients can access the service via a CNS helpline in which calls and concerns are prioritised and attended to.
Maintaining relationships with patients and colleagues is essential and providing specialist advice and knowledge.
