Summary
We have a high number of students and will therefore have numerous opportunities for teaching and developing. We are keen to assist with Mentor training and encourage spoke placements to all of our linked areas including theatre, Colposcopy, Fertility, Early Pregnancy and Out Patients. All our staff members work as a close team encouraging communication within all grades. Continuing ongoing training is encouraged to ensure that all staff are compliant. As a band 5 nurse you will be expected to care for a group of patients and when experienced on occasions, be in charge of the ward. You will be expected to administer medications within the hospital policies and guidelines as well as develop skills if not already competent in Venepuncture and Cannulation. You will be expected to care for patients with ongoing miscarriages, Gynaecological problems major and minor, terminations and outlying patients with various conditions. You will experience many telephone referrals from patients and therefore it is essential that you have excellent communications skills as well as a compassionate nature. If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
