This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on involvement, ensuring that HSEQ remains a core value across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, coach, and mentor account teams on HSEQ matters, providing competent advice and guidance.
- Conduct internal audits using a risk-based approach to ensure compliance with the OneISS Way.
- Lead investigations for Level 3 and 4 incidents and oversee governance for Level 1 and 2 incidents.
- Deploy strategic HSEQ initiatives, including SafeChoice, Permit to Work, and Lone Working solutions.
- Monitor significant risk areas such as statutory compliance, food safety, and project safety.
- Act as a primary point of contact for selected accounts and liaise with customers and third parties to enable improvements.
- Collaborate with other HSEQ Business Partners to share best practices and deliver consistent standards.
- Use reporting tools to identify trends and provide recommendations for risk reduction.
- Promote global and UK&I campaigns and initiatives, embedding a culture of safety and wellbeing.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Extensive HSEQ experience within a matrix organisation.
- Strong background in facilities management (hard and soft services), with knowledge of food safety, projects, and statutory compliance.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or working towards).
- Internal auditing experience to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 standards.
- Environmental Management Certificate (e.g., IEMA or NVQ Level 3).
- Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across regions and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for health and safety and the ability to inspire cultural change.
- Competence in using business reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications.
