We’re now welcoming applications for Part-Time Delivery Drivers (AIT Contract) to support our expanding operations across the North West. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy driving, like meeting new people, and take pride in providing a professional and positive customer experience.
Weekend work is available, along with opportunities for extra shifts as the business continues to grow.
About the Role
As a Part-Time Delivery Driver, you’ll complete collections and deliveries safely, efficiently, and on time. You’ll be working under an AIT (Approved Independent Transporter) contract using a company-provided van, following planned routes and ensuring every job meets Steady Wheel Transport’s excellent service standards.
This flexible role offers competitive pay, supportive team guidance, and the chance to build additional hours as we expand.
Key Responsibilities
Complete planned delivery and collection routes across the North West and wider UK.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload items including parcels, boxes, and furniture.
Use the company van responsibly, keeping it clean, tidy, and returned with adequate fuel.
Carry out basic vehicle checks before and after shifts (tyres, lights, oil, fuel, etc.).
Communicate promptly with the control team regarding delays, issues, or updates.
Update delivery status in real time using the company’s Driver App.
Provide friendly, polite, and professional customer service at every stop.
Follow all UK road laws and Steady Wheel Transport’s driving policies.
What We’re Looking For
Full UK driving licence (clean or minimal points).
Age 21+ (insurance requirement).
Delivery or courier experience is helpful but not essential — training and support provided.
Physically fit and able to handle items up to 25kg.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Reliable, punctual, and available for part-time shifts (with weekend work available).
Smart appearance and a positive, customer-friendly attitude.
Uniform & Equipment
Drivers are required to wear:
Black trousers
Black polo shirt
Hi-vis vest or jacket
Safety boots
A company van and fuel card will be provided for all working hours.
Pay & Benefits
£13.25–£14.00 per hour (depending on route and performance).
Company van and fuel provided for all work-related travel.
Monthly pay via bank transfer.
Flexible part-time shifts with weekend availability.
24/7 support from our Preston control centre.
Opportunities to progress into full-time or weekday driving positions.
