Summary
The Trust has actively developed stroke services in recent years and the multidisciplinary stroke team are committed in delivering excellent quality care to stroke patients and participates in the mandatory Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) which measures the quality and organisation of stroke care within the NHS.
The Stroke consultants work closely with the vascular, radiology and neurological teams to provide a collaborative service. Close working links occur with Kings College Hospital and the Royal London for Mechanical Thrombectomy, neuro-surgical, intra luminal intervention and super specialist stroke.
The stroke service is well supported by the radiology department with rapid access to CT, CTA, CTP 24/7 and MRI scanning. A Mechanical Thrombectomy service to go live Autumn 2025.
The Consultant will have a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and to undertake the administrative duties associated with their care.
They will be expected to work collaboratively with the Clinical Director, the Group Management Team and other departments on organisational and budget planning.
