Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Support

About the Role:
AK Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a secondary-aged student with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to the student in all areas of learning and personal development.
- Assist with academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy, as needed.
- Support the student in managing social interactions, emotional regulation, and behavioural challenges.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to implement personalised strategies and interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and provide feedback to the team.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting individual needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable but not essential.
