Can you spare 6 hours on a weekday during term time, and 12 hours during the school holidays, to support a young boy (15) to access community activities and to develop his independence.
A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the Harehills area to support a young boy who has difficulties with learning in accessing local community activities.
He is a happy verbal boy, with a pleasant disposition and likes swimming, going to the park, he likes to play football and likes the cinema and McDonald. He is a lovely boy who would benefit from learning some independent skills when out in the community.
He requires a P.A. for a total of 6 hours a week during term time, and 12 hours during school holidays, worked flexibly on mostly weekday evenings, but can also be required to work at weekends. The working days can be flexible; however, he likes to have a routine, and therefore punctuality and stability are essential in this role.
Experience of having worked with children as well as children; young people with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) is preferable. This would include some knowledge, experience and support strategies of S.E.N. that are essential in the following areas: thinking, understanding and learning, emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Rate of Pay: £12.40 per hour (gross)
Holiday Entitlement: You will be entitled to holidays on a PRO RATA basis.
