Can you spare 6 hours on a weekday during term time, and 12 hours during the school holidays, to support a boy (17) to access community activities and to develop his independence.
A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the Harehills area to support a young person aged 17, who has global developmental delay and a diagnosis of communication difficulties, in accessing local community activities. He does not require support with personal care needs.He is a happy verbal boy with a pleasant disposition and likes eating food and likes visiting places in the community, he is happy to please and he would engage in any activity and would benefit from one-to-one support. He must be always supervised due to becoming distracted especially when excited and he wants to talk and has some sense of road safety.This young person requires a P.A. for a total of 6 hours a week during term time, and 12 hours during school holidays, worked flexibly on mostly weekday evenings, but can also be required to work at weekends. The working days can be flexible, however, he likes to have a routine, and therefore punctuality and stability are essential in this role.Experience of having worked with children as well as children; young people with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) is preferable.
