Our client is seeking an Advisory Lawyer (Energy or Planning) to join their team. In this advisory role, you will work across a broad energy and infrastructure portfolio, providing high-quality legal support on complex and often high-profile matters. Typical responsibilities include:
Delivering clear, risk-based legal and public law advice across a range of energy, regulatory, planning, and infrastructure issues.
Providing input on policy development, including assisting with the preparation and progression of primary legislation in collaboration with policy teams and legislative drafters.
Drafting secondary legislation and supporting the implementation of regulatory frameworks.
Advising on legal challenges, including judicial review matters related to planning, infrastructure projects, and associated regulatory regimes.
Managing casework related to planning decisions and statutory challenges.
Producing timely, pragmatic, and solutions-focused advice in response to emerging and fast-moving developments.
Supporting transparency, accountability, and robust decision-making processes.

Experience (Essential)
Public law experience. This could be gained in a private practice context, through academic study or in the legal department of a public body.
Desirable
Energy law experience. This could be gained in a private practice context, through academic study or in the legal department of a public body.
