Leicester
Salary: £30,800 per annum
Hours of work: Full-time, Permanent
In partnership with a highly respected charity, I am recruiting for Refuge Manager for a 24-hour domestic abuse refuge in Leicester. This essential service provides safety, stability, and hope to women and children escaping domestic violence.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team within a values-driven organisation that champions the rights and recovery of survivors. If you're an experienced professional with a background in care or social welfare, this role offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Lead and manage staff rotas, performance, and professional development
- Oversee budgets and financial processes
- Recruit, train, and support staff members
- Assist residents with housing and benefit applications
- Maintain accurate records and use internal systems effectively
- Represent the service through presentations and stakeholder engagement
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, community groups, and other organisations
Applications are welcome from compassionate and capable leaders who bring:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent experience supporting vulnerable groups (women, children, survivors of domestic abuse)
- At least 3 years' experience in a care or social welfare setting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluency in English plus one main BAME language
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Ability to interpret and counsel effectively
- Understanding of multi-agency working across statutory and voluntary sectors
- Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
- A clear Enhanced DBS check
This is more than a management role - it's a chance to lead a service that transforms lives. You'll be part of a passionate team within a charity that puts survivors first, with the autonomy to shape service delivery and provide vital support to those who need it most.
