Summary
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant / Admin Manager for our well established client based in Crawley.
This is a standalone position, reporting directly to the Managing Director, and is responsible for all financial processing, controls, reporting and payroll activities.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in running an accounts function independently, enjoys a varied hands-on workload, and can provide clear financial insight to support operational decision-making.
Hours:
- Part-Time - Monday to Wednesday
- 9am to 5pm, flexible with start times due to school runs.
Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant / Admin Manager:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow commentary
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Maintain and monitor daily cash flow, highlighting risks and trends
- Liaise with external accountants on year-end files and statutory accounts
- Provide financial updates and analysis to the Managing Director
Sales Ledger
- Process weekly and monthly customer invoicing
Purchase Ledger
- Process supplier invoices and match to supporting documentation
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly/monthly supplier payment runs
- Maintain accurate ledgers in Sage 50
Sub-Contractor Pay
- Prepare weekly sub-contractor pay runs
- Ensure deductions are processed accurately
- Process weekly payments and maintain supporting records
Payroll
- Run weekly and monthly payroll
- Complete payroll year-end including P60s and P11Ds
- Maintain pension submissions and employee salary records
Bank, Cash & Invoice Finance
- Reconcile bank accounts regularly
- Process credit card and expense claims
- Maintain invoice discounting facility transactions and reconciliations
General Administration & Compliance
- Communicate with HMRC and financial institutions when required
- Support operational teams with finance-related queries
Skills & Experience Required for the Management Accountant / Admin Manager:
- Previous experience in a standalone finance role is preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and month-end reporting
- Confident user of Sage 50 and Excel
- Accurate, organised and reliable, with excellent attention to detail
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Comfortable managing workload independently
