About the job.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for multiple Project Support Officers to join our team in Major Projects. As a Project Support Officer, you will support and enable the delivery of capital investment projects in the Major Projects directorate. The broad scope of this role encompasses the delivery and coordination of project and administrative support to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to time, quality and within budget.

This role can be based from any of our UK offices, however travel to Birmingham or Manchester to attend monthly team meetings will be required.

Please note this position is for a 12-month FTC.

  • Provide comprehensive project support for project management activities including finance, document control and scheme governance ensuring the accuracy and quality of project data and compliance.
  • Develop and sustain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in National Highways and the supply chain.
  • Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of high-quality project products and records in accordance with National Highways Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
  • Support with project / programme governance and assurance requirements including stage gate assessments, independent audits, and project health checks.
  • Assist with project management products including project plans, risk registers, action logs and benefits registers.

About you.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communications.
  • Experience working with information and reports with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent collaborator with good ability to gain the involvement and engagement of a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge or experience of project and or / programme management.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
