We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team as a Housekeeper, within the division of Clinical Support and Cancer Services. You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well organised and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

We are seeking someone who is able to work autonomously to deliver a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the clinical environment; which includes the Main Outpatient Department, Radiology, Pharmacy and the Mortuary, whilst continually looking for ways to improve and develop both self and the clinical environment.

You will have a great eye for detail and will assist in achieving the highest possible standard of cleaning set by the Trust to minimize the risk of cross infection to patients, staff and visitors.

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards throughout the departments ensuring that patient dignity and privacy is maintained at all times.

**Please note that this position may close early due to a high application number of applications**
• To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards, conducting regular cleaning quality audits of allocated areas in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness Framework.
• To carry out cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
• To ensure specialist cleaning of surfaces and furnishings.
• To ensure that staff have adequate materials and that they are of correct type for the job, complying with cleaning schedules, ensuring all cleaning materials and protective clothing provided are used in the correct manner.
• To ensure that all alcohol gel dispensers, paper towels and soap for hand hygiene are replenished, thus contributing to the prevention of cross infection.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join TeamQEH. We’re working on a once in a generation opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art hospital and we are also carrying out on one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.

At The QEH we provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, North Cambs and South Lincs.

We are an ambitious organisation that upholds our values of kindness, wellness and fairness. We strive for continuous quality improvement, recently demonstrated in our 2024 CQC maternity inspection rating our services as ‘Good’, and we are proud to be a place to learn and grow through recognised learning and apprenticeships.

We recognise and reward our 4,000 staff and volunteers, priding ourselves on a community atmosphere and positive team spirit. We have approx. 530 beds across 33 wards and have newly built education and training facilities, a range of modern award-winning centres alongside a talented team of people ready to give you a warm welcome.

We love working here and think you will too.
